Jupiter’s Birth Story
Like most births, it did not go exactly as planned.
Jupiter made her grand entrance into this world, not breathing.
We were very fortunate that a very top notch doctor was in the delivery unit to help her until she was stable.
Jupiter was then air-vacced to Phoenix where I followed in my car (on less than 2 hours of sleep of course!)
Unfortunately, my sister had to stay overnight at the Cottonwood hospital until her blood pressure was back in normal range.
The next day mom and dad arrived at the Phoenix hospital – I snapped some photos of their first feeding together and temperature check and made my way home.
Mom, dad & Jupiter stayed for another 6 days until the star of the show’s sugar levels got back into normal range.
I have attended many births where things did not turn out as expected – but never so close to home. We are so very blessed and thankful for our happy ending!
